review of movie red notice with rock gal Godot Ryan Reynolds

Red Notice released in Theaters and on Netflix

John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) and Inspector Urvashi (Ritu Arya) team up to find the worlds two greatest art thieves Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) and the Bishop (Gal Gadot).

Red Notice is a hilarious new film now available on Netflix. It was released in theaters on November 5th, 2021, and then on Netflix only one week later. Red Notice was even better than I expected. After seeing the cast mentioned above, I had high hopes that Red Notice would be a very funny action film, and it definitely was. It had me laughing from the first five minutes, and all the way through.

Red Notice has a genuinely unique story.

Red Notice has a great story. It kept me interested throughout, and managed to surprise me several times. The fact that the movie was unique really meant something. Red Notice is not just a “copy & paste” action movie. It is clear that the cast and crew all put a lot of work into making it.

It was fun to see Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot all perform together on screen. At different times throughout the film, we even got to see them on the same side of conflicts.

Random Trivia about Red Notice: Nobody in the movie is seen dying, despite the many action scenes including guns, spears and car chases. Red Notice also had to pause filming half way through production, and was then forced to film scenes from all around the world without leaving the United States.

Plot Spoilers for Red Notice: Thieves Nolan Booth and the Bishop are both trying to find all three of Cleopatra’s golden bejeweled eggs. When Agent John Hartley catches Nolan Booth, Bishop ends of framing them both, and stealing the first two eggs for herself. Agent Hartley and Booth team up to catch Bishop, and prove Hartley’s innocence.

In the end we find out that Hartley and Bishop have been working together, and using Booth to find the third egg. Long story short, all three eggs are found and sold to an Egyptian billionaire. The film ends with all 3 main characters teaming up to take on a new heist as they sail off into the sunset.

My wife and I both enjoyed watching Red Notice. We would even watch it again sometime. I definitely recommend catching it in theaters or just watching it at home on Netflix.
