Uncharted hits the big screen!
The new Uncharted movie is based off the video game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The first game in the Uncharted franchise was Drake’s Fortune, first released on PlayStation in 2007. Since then there have been several games released in the franchise which has become known as Uncharted.
Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) team up to find a long lost treasure. Along the way they share a real “Indiana Jones” style adventure. They avoid deadly traps, race against competitors, and fight for their lives in an action packed story. There are a few plot twists throughout the film, but they are pretty standard. Some bad guys aren’t that bad; some good guys aren’t that good.
One thing that surprised me was how the main character Nathan did not get reunited with his older brother. I really expected a family reunion. The best part of Uncharted was probably the pirate ship battle near the end of the movie.
There was almost nothing unique about Uncharted. The acting talent was the best part of the film, and honestly made the whole thing worth watching. I have no complaints about the film; it was fun to watch. I would even watch it again sometime after it releases to streaming.
