Ahsoka (TV Series) – Review

Ahsoka Live-Action TV Show on Disney+

Many fans were excited for the release of Ahsoka on Disney+. She has been a long time fan favorite ever since the character, voiced by Ashley Eckstein, was created for the Clone Wars cartoon series.

Seeing Ahsoka in live action for the first time was awesome! I do wish that Ashley was the actress chosen to play Ahsoka, but Rosario Dawson did a fine job.

Our Review of Ahsoka TV Show

Recent Disney+ TV shows have been slow lately. I am currently watching Loki, and have kept up on most of the Marvel and Star Wars shows this past year. The Ahsoka show fell in line with this pattern and felt kind of slow. It took entire episodes to barely move a character from one place to the next. Multiple episodes went by where it felt like nothing changed.

Ahsoka might have been better as a movie, but then again Dave Filoni is also working on a Star Wars movie that will have characters from The Mandalorian and Ahsoka in it.

Despite being slow, Ahsoka was still a good tv series. It felt like Star Wars, and we got to see a lot of cartoon characters brought to life. A couple fan favorites were Ezra, Sabine, and Hera Syndulla, played by the lovely Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Mary Elizbeth Winstead’s portrayal of Hera Syndulla resulted in all sorts of positive reaction across fans on the internet. She quickly became a favorite and almost stole the show at moments. It would be great to see this character make a return in future Star Wars shows and movies.

Another great character that appeared was Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn is a long time fan favorite, especially among legacy Star Wars fans. The only thing we are missing now is Luke’s wife Mara Jade from the books and comics.

The Ahsoka tv show was packed full of cameos and easter eggs. It was a fun watch overall. I think it was better for those who previously watched The Clone Wars and Rebels.

Anakin shows up in the Ahsoka TV Show

The best surprise of the Ahsoka show was that Hayden Christensen showed up as Anakin Skywalker. He appeared through the Force, and mentored Ahsoka a bit. They had flashbacks to the Clone Wars time period which were very cool to see in live action.

Hayden has been recieving all sorts of positive feedback and support from the Star Wars fan base. I can’t wait to see more of him in future Star Wars projects!
