Summary & Thoughts:
I found myself eager to watch this third, and final installment of the Divergent trilogy. As with every book turned movie, I was curious if it would stay true to the written word. Like most book based films though, the story was altered. In this case, the whole ending was changed.
I’m not going to spoil anything, but I will say that I liked where this movie went with the story. I enjoyed seeing what lay beyond the destroyed city of Chicago. I liked that they brought back all the characters, and I felt that the movie was well made. This film was very similar to the first two, but with a bit more action. I was satisfied with the ending. It didn’t wrap up everything, and if it had, it would’ve felt rushed. It completed the story line for the main characters. It leaves room for something more, even a fourth film, but it definitely doesn’t need one.
Overall, I enjoyed watching Allegiant. I feel no need to re-watch it, and I’m glad that this trilogy has reached its end. I would recommend watching all three Divergent films. I greatly enjoyed them, and I feel that they are unique.
