Black Widow hits the big screen!

Natasha Romanoff (aka. Black Widow) receives a mysterious package from her long lost sister, which sends her on a mission to confront the people responsible for turning her into the “Black Widow”.

Florence Pugh played the role of Yelena Belova, Black Widow’s sister. To make things a little confusing, Yelena Belova is also a Black Widow, and it turns out that there of thousands of “Black Widow” mercenaries scattered around the globe. These mercenaries are trained and controlled by the “Red Room”, an organization led by Dreykov. Natasha, the Black Widow, was under the impression that Dreykov had been killed by an explosion that she herself planted. His being alive, coupled with the fact that the “Red Room” never stopped training mercenary black widows, causes her to set out on a mission to stop both.

Background story for the Black Widow

We get to see a good bit of both Natasha and Yelena’s childhood, which was rough to say the least. We learn about their “parents”, and the training that both children were forced into at a young age. Most of the movie however focuses on the current threat that the “Red Room” poses.

Black Widow, the movie, was awesome. It was funny, action packed, and just well made all around. The actors did a great job portraying their characters, and Florence Pugh was especially fun to watch. Since Marvel fans know that Natasha dies in the movie Avengers: Endgame, it felt like this movie might be a hand off of the title “Black Widow” to Yelena. Time will tell what Disney plans to do.
