“Without a filter, a man is just chaos walking.”
Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley team up in the new action film Chaos Walking. The film is set in the distant future; on a far away world. When Viola, played by Daisy Ridley, crash lands on a “new world” that she and her crew were suppose to inhabit, she quickly realizes that something is wrong. She can hear the thoughts of everyone around her. Viola finds herself captured by local townspeople, and is informed that all the women on the planet have been killed off by aliens. She also learns that the planet only causes men’s thoughts to broadcast, and so she can rest easy keeping her thoughts to herself.
Todd, played by Tom Holland, has grown up on this new world. He is used to the fact that everyone broadcasts their thoughts. When Viola shows up, it becomes apparent to Todd that something is not right, and that the townspeople mean to hurt her. As one can imagine, it is hard to keep secrets, so Todd does his best to hide her. Todd’s father tells him that there is another town where Viola might be safe, so the two team up, and set out to find it.
Overall thoughts about Chaos Walking
I was looking forward to seeing Tom and Daisy working together in Chaos Walking. I am a fan of both the Star Wars and Marvel universes, and so it was definitely cool to see main actors from both working together. Chaos walking was an interesting movie. It left me wanting to know more, and I hope that they make more of the book series into movies.
It was not the best film to come out this year, but I personally found it worth watching. I’d even watch it again sometime. The story was creative and unique. The acting was well done. Chaos Walking was pretty good all around.
