Cinderella (2015) Review

A classic story retold once again.

As I sat in the theater listening to the girls giggling down the aisle from me, I knew that this movie was aimed at a certain crowd. Having seen my fair share of “Cinderella” movies, I basically new how it was going to play out, and was just watching to see how this new team portrayed the timeless tale. The movie starts out earlier in the story than any previous tale telling I have seen. Ella (Cinderella) is a young child with a happy family. As the film progresses, you learn how she ends up as a servant girl in her own house. The stepmother and daughters were portrayed very well, and were entertaining to watch. Lily James did a great job, and brought a kind soft personality to the Princess Cinderella character. The King and the Prince shared some father son moments, and the Prince(Kit) was a gentlemen throughout the film. The movie had it sad moments, but of course ended with a happily ever after. It was all just as a fairy tale should be. Disney did a great job with this film, and I enjoyed watching it. I even heard an “aww” escape a man sitting in the row below me, so apparently this film is for the whole family. I feel safe recommending Cinderella for any age, with noting that younger children may lose interest.
