Cruella – Live Action Prequel Film

Cruella was destined to catch people off guard and by surprise. Nobody new what to expect from a young Cruella, played by Emma Stone. After watching Cruella for the first time, I took a couple days to digest it, before writing down my thoughts. I think that Cruella is a fantastic movie. The acting was great, the story was unique, and it was well-made all around.

Disney’s Cruella is NOT for children of all ages.

Although the character “Cruella de Vil” is best known for her appearance in Disney’s “101 Dalmatians”, this movie is far from being made for children. It explores darker topics, promotes immoral behavior, and is surprisingly violent at times. I may have you wondering what kind of movie you are in for at this point. I probably make it sound worse than it is, as it is way more appropriate than most modern TV shows and movies. I feel that this topic only merits discussion when a live action film is based on a children’s cartoon.

Spoiler Warning for the next paragraph: Cruella’s mother is killed by dogs early in the film. She later finds out that the woman who killed her “mother” is actually her real mother. That’s not all though, as her real mother then attempts to kill her twice!

Cruella is worth the watch!

Cruella came in at over 2 hours long! It was definitely a full movie, with lots of character development and story. I recommend giving it a watch on DisneyPlus or in theaters!
