Summary & Thoughts:
Developed by Bungie, this game showed promise. Developer of the beloved Halo franchise, Bungie has a dedicated following. I would say that Destiny delivers on the expectation of a well polished first person shooter game. The story however is a bit lacking. I did like the Sci-Fi setting of Destiny, but found myself puzzling which type of gamer was being targeted.
Set in an online open world, I expected a bit more MMO or RPG to be present. It is really just an open world shooter where you can collect gear and level up. You can play through the brief 15 minute repeatable missions with ease, or bump up the difficulty to play with friends.
The shooter element of the game is awesome. It feels polished and well developed. The graphics and visuals are great. The game plays very well, and I hear that the expansions add a lot to the game. I only purchased the original content, so I will not be reviewing the expanded content.
Destiny has a single player campaign, multiplayer campaign(over the internet), and player vs player. The campaign is more fun with friends, and has some cool boss fights. The PvP feels well done, and is best described as Halo style PvP.
Overall I enjoyed playing Destiny, and might purchase the expanded content someday. I would recommend people try the base game before purchasing the extra content, but think that most shooter fans out there will have a good time.
