Summary & Thoughts:
This game is absolutely outstanding! Perfect for young gamer’s, yet still fun for adults. Disney Infinity 3.0 remakes the whole experience, and adds a long list of characters to the collection. Much like the main focus on Disney Infinity 2.0 was Marvel super heroes, 3.0 focuses on Star Wars.
The starter kit to 3.0, gets you the actual game disc, the Star Wars prequel adventure, and two characters. You can purchase additional adventures(even non-star wars ones), and dozens of characters at any local retailer. 3.0 works a lot like 2.0, so for an in depth guide to expanding your collection, check out my review of 2.0 here ->Disney Infinity 2.0 Review
The movement and combat has been slightly reworked, and the overall experience to the game has been completely overhauled. I tremendously enjoyed 2.0, and until I saw 3.0, didn’t think it could get any better. With better vehicle controls, smoother combat, and even space adventures being added, the game has gotten much better. On a side note, 1.0 & 2.0 characters can be used in 3.0. This game also features multiplayer co-op on the same console, and internet multiplayer with friends.
One of the biggest improvements though, has been the adding of an extensive tutorial. You are now gently guided through your Disney universe experience, while being prompted to try out new things. You can explore the open world Toy Box Hub to get the hang of the game, and when your ready, can venture out into different worlds. You can create your own adventures to play, and you can play pre-made ones through several Disney universes. You can race cars and podracers, and you can duel your friends. There is so much to do in Disney Infinity 3.0, that it will keep you busy for a long time.
Young children may find some of the content difficult, but there is a setting built in to make the game easier. Also, if questing is just too much for them, they can run around exploring and doing a lot of nothing. The Toy Box Hub alone is awesome enough to keep one busy for hours. One of my favorite aspects of the game though, is the ability to play with other people. The game content varies so much, that parents can enjoy a challenge while playing levels with their kids. Disney Infinity 3.0 is very family friendly, and extremely fun.
I recommend Disney Infinity 3.0 to families with young children, and Star Wars fans of any age.
