Summary & Thoughts:
Play as your favorite Marvel heroes and battle it out in this brand new expansion! Up to 4 players can play simultaneously. Play on teams, or duke it out every man for himself. There are 28 playable figures, and plenty of battle zones. That’s not all though, you can also play co-op through a series of 12 levels. These levels follow a story that allow you to battle evil robot look alike’s of your favorite marvel heroes. The idea is likely inspired and heavily influenced by the new Captain America: Civil War movie.
The game is pretty simple, and I would compare it to Super Smash Bros. There is a large variety of playable characters. The maps move and change. Each character has quick attacks, combos, and special abilities. There are definitely plenty of nice things to say about the game.
The downsides to the game would be the character balancing and camera angles. The camera angles and zooms do not feel close enough to the player character. There are plenty of times where you will feel like you don’t know which way your character will attack. The characters are also not balanced enough. Some of them have abilities that can be spammed repeatedly without allowing much comeback potential. Some characters are under powered, and some severely over(I’m looking at you Groot).
With all that said though, the game is pretty solid. It is fun and fast paced. It is easy enough for young kids, and entertaining enough for adults. I would recommend catching it on sale at Target.com or Amazon.com. (Side note: You must have the Disney Infinity: Starter Kit before playing this expansion)
