Summary & Thoughts:
Goat Simulator is about as serious as it sounds. There is no purpose, story, or goal to achieve. You start out your adventure by selecting one of two maps. You then proceed to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting populace. As you prance around knocking over fences, and ramming into unsuspecting bystanders, you begin to realize that life as a goat is not what you expected. You are irregularly strong, extremely durable, and possess the ability to rag doll on command. You can ride the Ferris wheel, jump on trampolines, and cause car accidents. The world is yours for the taking.
In all seriousness, this game is quite silly. I found it to be quite cheesy, but I still attempted to milk it for all its worth. There are some comical mini games, like goat racing. The game can be played with up to 4 players on one console. The settings allow you to mutate your goat in various fashions, including the ability to add jet packs, double jumps, and dragon born powers. The game has several hidden Easter eggs to find. At one point, I found myself teleported to a goat castle. As I walked down the red carpet, goats bowed to either side, and I received “goat queen” as an achievement.
Goat Simulator is unpolished, and full of bugs. I had a good time with it, and it makes for a fun party game. I managed to snag it as a free game of the month on Xbox Live. If you can get it for free, then I recommend playing it. But I’m pretty sure I would never spend money on it.
