Summary & Thoughts:
Jupiter Ascending is one of the harder movies I have had to review, mostly because it is all over the place. It begins with Jupiter’s parents meeting, dating, and birthing her. Then it fast forwards to her life in Chicago as a professional house cleaner. Jupiter is unhappy with her life, but has no idea how to change it. As the story progresses, an ex-military alien named Caine saves and changes her life. Then Jupiter finds out that she is royalty. Without spoiling anything though, the story takes the viewer far out into space. It is a fun, fast paced, sci-fi adventure.
I enjoyed this film, and would recommend it as a rental. It definitely has enough aliens and lasers to keep sci-fi lovers entertained. Despite not being a Tatum fan, I found the acting to be well done. The visual effects were cool, the action fast paced, and the story progressive. I am not sure I would watch this film again, but I definitely enjoyed it the first time.
