The Mario Kart you remember.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best Nintendo racing game ever made. It contains everything from the original Mario Kart 8 plus all of the DLC added since. Right out the gate you get 48 unique courses and 42 famous characters to choose from. The fun doesn’t stop there though, this new version features new characters, new items, and a revamped battle mode.
Like many gamer’s, I have fond memories of playing Mario Kart 64. This game does justice to those memories. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe feels like the game you remember.

Take Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Road!
The Nintendo Switch brings a new twist to the Mario Kart franchise. Gamer’s have been able to play Mario Kart on the go ever since it’s debut on the Game Boy Advance, but now gamer’s can enjoy multiplayer on the go. Nintendo’s new Switch brings local multiplayer to the table, and allows up to 4 players to play simultaneously on one console.
Mario Kart has never been the best single player experience, but when it comes to multiplayer it really gets the job done. I put Mario Kart 8 Deluxe up there will all the great party games of the past. Since picking it up on launch day, my wife and I have played every day. It’s a great game for casual and hardcore gamer’s alike.
The variety of characters and vehicles blows my mind. There are so many options to choose from. Even when you figure out which vehicle you want, you get to customize your wheels and flight glider. My favorite character is Metal Mario, and my favorite vehicle is the Splatoon themed “splat buggy”. There are a lot more items than I remember, and I’m enjoying the ability to carry two items at the same time. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a real solid game.
The revamped battle mode is outstanding. There are five ways to battle including the traditional Balloon Battle. Renegade Roundup is perhaps the most advanced and coordinated mode. Bob-omb Blast is just plain fun, and Coin Runners adds a new twist. All of the modes are great, but my favorite by far is Shine Thief. Shine Thief has 2 teams battle it out for control over a floating star. Players must pick up the star and keep control of it until the timer runs out. Like all the battle modes this one can get a bit competitive.
The Green Light Recommendation
I look forward to playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at future parties and events. This game is already very popular and getting lots of positive feedback. I feel good about recommending it to everyone.
