Lost in space; looking for love.

When you wake up 90 years too early and find yourself alone on a spaceship, it’s not a good day. Chris Pratt plays an engineer by the name of Jim, who is looking to make a new life for himself. The only problem is that after waking up Jim has no way to get back into a medically induced sleep. He finds himself staring at a bleak and lonely future, until another sleep pod malfunctions. Aurora Lane played by Jennifer Lawrence is the second passenger to wake up much too early.

This sci-fi romance is set in the distant future and tells the story of two star-struck lovers. Just when things seem to be going well though, the spaceship starts to malfunction. A third passenger is awakened and the three must find a way to fix the ship before thousands of lives are lost in transport.

Passengers had great character development.

My favorite thing about this film was the relationship development. The romance did not feel rushed, but felt very natural. It helped that the two main characters had good chemistry, but there was definitely a lot of story to their relationship. I feel that this is really what made the movie great. If the romance had been rushed, the entire movie would have been ruined. It had to be believable because the romance was the actual plot of the movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic film. The acting was great, the story well written, and the plot twists creative. I especially liked the ending. I don’t like to spoil movies, but this one has a happy ending. I would recommend it for any date night.
