Remaking Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire in 3D
Alpha Sapphire is the best Pokemon game yet. With stunning 3D graphics, an addictive story, and a wide variety of old and new pokemon to catch, this game is fantastic. Set in the Hoenn region this adventure takes the player to unique cities, mysterious mountains, and even the ocean floor.
The story starts out with the player moving to Littleroot Town. Perhaps one of the smallest towns ever, with a population of 8, this quaint little town is your new home. Upon arriving, you meet the local pokemon professor and are given your first pokemon. After a few brief battles and tutorial like conversations, you set out to explore the Hoenn region, and fill your pokedex by seeing one of every kind of pokemon. Along the way you meet several friends who help and battle you throughout the rest of the game. Toward the end you meet a mysterious mentor who asks for your help in stopping Team Aqua. Team Aqua wants to awaken the great Kyogre (the legendary pokemon on the front cover). With it they dream of a better world where pokemon and humans can coexist in peace. But alas things go awry and it is up to you to save the day. At the very end of the game there is also a great plot twist involving a secondary character. I loved the story in this game. It was subtle and unique.
The casual play of any Pokemon game allows you to beat the game in several ways. From collection pokemon, to beating Team Aqua, and confronting the Elite Four, there are tons of things to do. You can also build bases now and have your own private houses scattered throughout the region. You can breed pokemon at the daycare, battle random players online, and trade with other collectors around the world. You can teach your pokemon to swim, dive, climb, fly, and mega evolve!
Pokemon is a game that anyone can enjoy. It’s safe for young gamer’s, yet has enough depth to it for older ones. I greatly enjoyed Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and look forward the new Pokemon games coming in 2016.
