Wreck it Ralph is back for another adventure.
This new Wreck it Ralph movie takes place 6 years after the first. Vanellope and Ralph set off on an adventure into the internet to find a steering wheel to fix Vanellope’s Sugar Rush arcade game. This film features dozens of new and returning characters. It also leans heavily on the relationship built between Ralph and Vanellope in the first movie; making this one best watched after the original.
Ralph Breaks the Internet featured all of the original Disney Princesses.
One reason to go see this movie is to witness the re-imagining of Disney Princesses. They do not play a major role in the film, but they do show up a couple times, and they even save the day toward the end of the movie. It was super cute to see them all together and I’m looking forward to seeing Disney do more things like this.
Stormtrooper’s also made a cool cameo in this movie. When Vanellope goes to one of Disney’s websites, she encounters a squad of Stormtroopers. The Stormtroopers proceed to chase Vanellope through the streets and all around Disney town. This funny scene even featured a remix of original Star Wars music.
Aside from Princesses and Stormtroopers, there were also hundreds of funny nods to video game and internet related things.
Not as good as the original, but well worth a watch.
The first Wreck it Ralph was made for Video Game fans. This movie was made for a more general audience, and so it loses some of its charm. It also felt a little long at some points, but this could have been due to me watching it with two small children. Either way, Ralph Breaks the Internet is a super cute movie and I recommend catching it in theaters.
