Robot Mech Design Concept – Textured/Rigged (3D Art)

I worked in Maya and Zbrush for the modeling and Photoshop for the texturing of the robot. I rigged the model using more node based rigging which was a new was of rigging which taught me a lot about working with the models even though it was a hard surface model there is still great things to learn. I also lit the model in Maya to make the design come to life in 3D. It wasn’t so much a challenge for me, as I enjoyed learning the smaller components that can be added to make models come to life. I originally designed it in 2D, then I modeled it and UV mapped it. I added textures all on my own. I made the model in about 5 hrs of work time, and spent a lot of that time pushing my boundaries. I learned a lot about on the texturing during this whole process.
