Spider-Man swings back into theaters!
Spider-Man: Far from Home is the second Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (aka the MCU). This time around Spider-Man is off to Europe on an all new adventure. What starts out as a school field-trip quickly turns into something more. Trouble seems to follow Peter Parker whether he likes it or not. A new threat has been discovered by Quentin Beck, a scientist from another Earth. Director Nick Fury and Quentin Beck ask for Spider-Man’s help to once again save the world.
Mysterio makes his first appearance on the big screen.
I have always wanted to see Mysterio in a Spider-Man film. Venom and Mysterio have always been two of my favorite Spider-Man villains (spoiler alert). I was very excited to see Jake Gyllenhaal’s performance as Mysterio, and I was far from disappointed. He did a fantastic job in his portrayal of Mysterio.
I wasn’t sure if they were going to give Mysterio actual magical powers, or if they would stay true to his original use of illusions and misdirection. I was happy with the choice they made, but in truth I am very easy to please. I tend to be flexible about Marvel and Star Wars films.
A couple new Spider-Man suits.
There were a couple new Spidey suits featured in Spider-Man: Far From Home. One such suit was the above featured black kevlar suit. The idea behind this suit was to keep Spider-Man’s identity and visit to Europe a secret. Speaking of Spider-Man, Tom Holland continues to do a fantastic job of bringing this super hero to life. He seems like a cool guy in real life as well. If you haven’t followed him on social media, you definitely should.
MCU did a good job of explaining why Peter Parker and some of his classmates were still in the same grade, even after the events of Avenger’s Endgame. Spider-Man: Far from Home was one of the more light-hearted Marvel movies. It was a blast of comic relief that made for a fun watch.
All around I really liked Spider-Man: Far from Home. I will definitely be adding it to my home movie collection in the near future. Be sure to catch this one in theaters!
