Star Wars: The Old Republic

Summary & Thoughts:

Star Wars: The Old Republic is one of my all time favorite games. It has quality story driven content, challenging Operations(Raids), and fun PvP. It really has the complete MMO package. A few years after being launched, space PvP and player housing were added. These both filled holes, and greatly improved upon an already awesome game.

So what is Swtor? It is a Massively Multi-Player Online Game, or MMO for short. It is set in the Star Wars universe, thousands of years before the prequels. At the start, you get to choose your faction, your profession, and create a unique character. The character creation is amazing. There are tons of options to customize your look. There are also two factions, Republic and Empire. There are 4 unique classes for each faction, and each one has its own story.

You start the game on a low level home world, which varies depending on your faction. You then gain xp(experience points) by doing missions. The level cap has been increased several times, and will be increased again this fall to above lv60. The story in Swtor is truly the best I have ever seen in an MMO.

But what happens after you beat your story line? There is tons of “elder game” content. You can run raids, play pvp, and hang out with your friends. There are also plenty of daily repeatable missions to grind for credits and gear. The developers have also been very good at adding content to the game every year.

Whether you want to be a saber wielding Jedi, or a gun-slinging Smuggler, this game will fulfill your Star Wars fantasy. I would recommend this game to just about anyone. I have beaten almost all of the game content, and have done everything from leading a 300 player guild, to decorating player houses. Possibly one of the greatest things about Swtor, is the option to play for free! You can go to www.Swtor.com and start your adventure today! (There is also a subscription option, which adds a lot of awesome and handy things to your game experience.)
