Farmville Reloaded

Stardew Valley is a cute farming adventure game. You start out by watching a cut scene of your character. You are hard at work in a cubicle and living in a large dull city. Upon receiving a letter from your grandfather you learn that you have inherited a farm. You then decide to move out to Stardew Valley and begin living the simple life.

This game feels complete and polished. It’s packed with a variety of fun things to do. You can harvest resources by clearing out trees and shrubbery. You can go mining for rocks and minerals. You can even adventure into dangerous areas to fight off hordes of enemies. As you do all these things, you gain skills. You can earn money by selling crops, resources, and loot. You can then upgrade your tools, weapons, and clothing.

Stardew Valley is packed full of things to do!

One of the best parts about this game though, is that the world feels alive! The small town that you live near is filled with interactive non player characters. These characters work, sleep, and move about. They open shops, give quests, and carry on conversations. You can interact with them to earn affection, or just use them as vendors. The townspeople have personalities, stories, and birthdays. Each day they show up to work, and then head back home. Stores have hours of operation, and even take days off.

The game rotates through 4 seasons. Each season consists of a month, totaling about 30 in game days. Each day you wake up with fresh energy and health. You get to use it all for gathering, adventuring, and whatever else you want to do. But at 2:00am every night you pass out of exhaustion, get robbed, and appear back at your house. The way to avoid passing out is to make sure that you are in bed every night. By going to bed you can choose when to end a day, and when to begin another.

Multiplayer has arrived in Stardew Valley!

Stardew Valley is now available on Nintendo Switch. Multiplayer has also been added to the PC and Switch versions of the game. Multiplayer allows up to 4 players to share a farm. Each player gets their own house and money, but they share the farm and can work together to develop the land. Like everything else that Stardew Valley does, Multiplayer is again well polished.

I’ve had a real blast playing this game. It’s fun, cute and entertaining. There’s a lot of humor in it and it feels relaxing. I would recommend this game to just about anyone. If you want to learn more stop by the Half Full Review’s Youtube channel to get a quick look at the game!
