Not as amazing as I’d hoped.
I never compare a movie to a book. I believe that they are created for different audiences. Live Theater, Film, and Literature are all different art forms and cannot be compared to each other on the same scale. With that said, I did feel like The Maze Runner was a bit rushed. This movie could have been made in 2 parts. I thought the story was intriguing, but I felt it needed more time to get fully fleshed out. There were some jump scenes and quite a few bloody moments, so I would not recommend it for young children.
The Maze Runner seemed rushed.
Dylan O’Brien did a good job as the main character “Thomas”. I had previously seen him in TV shows, and so it was cool to see him in a film. The other characters were created well, but not given enough time to develop a relationship with the audience. The action scenes were well done and the sound track was spot on. Overall, I enjoyed The Maze Runner and would recommend it as a rental.
