On May 1st, Walt Disney World announced the birth of their new bundle of joy! Referring to the Disney Parks Blog, both Western Lowland gorillas Kashata and Gino gave birth to a baby girl gorilla through the Species Survival Plan! Walt Disney World later named the adorable baby gorilla “Grace” after the “Grace Gorilla Sanctuary” in Democratic Republic of Congo. The “Grace Gorilla Sanctuary” devotes their time in caring for orphaned gorillas due to poaching!
In celebration of Grace’s arrival, Animal Kingdom has released a special cupcake in her honor!
This chocolate cupcake has puffy yellow and white buttercream frosting with pink and blue crispy chocolate pearls, a  green fondant leaf and an edible image of Kashata and her baby gorilla “Grace” for just $5.99!
This cupcake is a big cupcake! If I were you, I would eat this with a fork! My boyfriend and I both had faces covered in yellow frosting and chocolate cupcake crumbs! This was a messy cupcake attempt to eat! A big surprise is hidden inside of the cupcake. There are pink crispy chocolate pearls! What a cute take on a gender reveal for Grace!
You can purchase this cupcake in Animal Kingdom’s Tamu Tamu Refreshments near the Tusker House restaurant in Africa for just $5.99!
You can visit Grace and her parents Kashata and Gino at the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail in Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. We didn’t get the opportunity to see Grace as she and her mother are still bonding and they only come out during certain times throughout the day. Who knows, you might just get lucky!
