The History of Internet Gambling.

Online gambling (or Internet gambling) usually includes poker, black jack, and other popular casino games. The first online casino was founded in 1994, and was not regulated by any governments. Since then many online casinos have sprung up over the years. As the internet has developed, new online regulations have been put in place, and internet gambling as been brought under close examination. Today most countries ban online gambling. The major exceptions to this being Canada, some smaller European countries, and parts of the Caribbean.

When it comes to online gambling in the United States, things get a bit fuzzy. At times it has been seen as completely legal, and at other times the government has stepped in and shut down online casinos. At the moment there are dozens of internet casinos that welcome USA players, but you’ll have to be willing to trust them, as the law may not be on your side.

Gambling on the Nintendo Switch and other Handheld Gaming Devices.

Recently I’ve been putting some thought into gambling on handheld gaming devices, such as the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation Vita. There would definitely be a lot of obstacles to overcome. Firstly, these devices are aimed at a wide audience of players. Folks of all ages use these devices, which will make it difficult to insure gambling age restrictions are being followed. Secondly, major gaming companies like Nintendo and Sony do not currently allow real money gambling on any of their gaming platforms.

I do not foresee either of these obstacles being overcome in the near future. The world would have to change drastically, pigs would have to start flying, and hell would definitely need to freeze over.

You may be pleasantly surprised.

Although it’s unlikely that online gambling will ever make its way to handheld gaming devices, free to play versions of popular casino games already exist! The Nintendo DS, 2DS, and 3DS can play Golden Nugget Casino, Fantasy Slots, and Adventure in Vegas. There will also likely be new Casino style games on the Nintendo Switch in the near future.

These free to play or “fun only gambling” games are readily available for purchase. They provide a way to practice Poker, Black Jack, and other popular casino games on the go.
