Summary & Thoughts:
“Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?” – Derek Zoolander
I do not have the words to describe how I feel about this movie. This film contains a mixture of slap stick humor, crude jokes, and ridiculous events. It will take you where no film has gone before, except maybe the original Zoolander. If you enjoyed the first one, then you will enjoy this one. Zoolander 2 is a more modern version of the first. It has most of the same characters, a similar story, and the same type of humor.
The movie starts off with a wild chase, resulting in a drawn out death scene performed by Justin Bieber. After Derek’s school for kids “who can’t read good and want to do other stuff good” comes crashing down, it results in the death of his wife. His son is then taken by child protective services, and Derek goes into hiding. Several years later, Derek and Hansel team up with an ex-swimsuit model to once again, save the world of fashion. There was no nudity in the film. The language was kept to a minimal, and the jokes were crude, but not any more than the original.
Overall I enjoyed this movie. I tend to like dry slap stick humor though, so if you don’t, then this probably isn’t for you. The movie is only about 90 minutes, and it moves along at a good pace. I hesitate to recommend this film, mainly because of the crude humor. If I were to though, I would only recommend it as a rental for adults.
