Summary & Thoughts:
The Lake House is a romantic tale of two people living years apart. Sandra Bullock plays a lonely doctor named Kate. At the beginning of the film, she moves to a big city to take a new job. She sells her Lake House to a quiet construction manager named Alex. Upon exchanging letters with him through the mailbox, she learns that they are living 2 years apart. She is in the year 2006, and he in the year 2004.
The movie progresses as the two continue to write each other. As the fall in love, they start to notice times in the past where their paths have crossed. They decide that they want to meet each other, but must figure out a way to make it happen.
I enjoyed this romantic film. It was slow in a good way, and took it’s time with character development. It had a few sad moments, but was mostly happy, and the ending is good. I would recommend it for a date night.
