Captain America: Civil War

Summary & Thoughts:

I have enjoyed every Marvel film I’ve seen, and this one is was no exception. With its usual cast of characters the acting was great. This movie picks up where the others left off and continues to build on the already expansive Marvel universe.

I won’t spoil much, but it’s pretty obvious that this movie features the Avengers fighting each other. With the government closing in on the vigilante Avengers, things start to get complicated. When Captain America’s friend “Bucky” is framed for an assassination, the team members must all take sides.

I found the acting and action to be amazing, but I didn’t care for the plot. I found the plot to be a bit stretched, and sort of drawn out. I wish that they would’ve had all of the complications and reasons to fight more centralized early on. There was a lot of back and forth when it came to conflict resolution.

I did appreciate the addition of new characters. It was fun to see Spider Man, Ant Man, and the others. I won’t ruin the ending for anyone, but it wasn’t what I wanted. It didn’t bring closure to the story, and it left the Avengers in a weird spot.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie. It was a bit on the long side, and it needed some plot tweaks, but it was good. I would recommend it to just about anyone.
