New to Netflix, Queen Charlotte has 1 season available to watch. The show follows the main character Queen Charlotte and her marriage to King George of England. The premise of the show is to set up the high society that exists in the original Bridgerton TV show.
What is everyone saying about Queen Charlotte on Netflix?
Everyone that I have spoken too has enjoyed the show. It has done well critically across the internet, and I personally found it entertaining enough to watch.
Queen Charlotte and Bridgerton take a spin at re-writing history and imagining an alternate universe. One of the main differences is the equality that it shows across sex and race. This is a pretty cool way to re-imagine the world, as long as people are taught accurate history prior to watching it. History is important, and those who do not know it are destined to repeat it.
As with most shows these days (in 2023) it shows men as emotional and unsecure, while showing women as a more powerful and superior sex. Equality is equality, and what TV shows display these days is not equality.
Putting all that aside and getting back to the question at hand. Is Queen Charlotte any good? Yes, it was fun and entertaining to watch. It was a romantic story showing the evolution of marriage and love over a lifetime.

How does Queen Charlotte compare to Bridgerton?
In short, Bridgerton was better, but Queen Charlotte is also good. Spoilers Ahead It was a little more sad at times, especially when it came to King George’s mental illness, but that was the story they wanted to tell.
I would watch a second season of Queen Charlotte, and I will watch the new seasons for Bridgerton. Most folks seem to deem these shows watchable, and if you like shows set in the 1800’s then you will probably enjoy them too.
How sexually explicit is Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story?
We fast forward most of the sexually explicit stuff in our house, and there were quite a few scenes in this series. One episode was stuffed full of sex, but viewers should see it coming. No pun intended. It was no more or less explicit than Bridgerton.

The acting was good. The story was solid and emotional. The camera work and editing were what viewers have come to expect from Netflix shows. Overall the quality of the show was really good.
